Technological Systems Control


The company UNIS, a.s. supplies solutions for all the levels of automation in continuous and non-continuous processes. The extent of automation covers the extent of tasks from simple independent regulation circuits or devices through automatic control of functional groups up to complex solutions of technologic sets. Automation of continuous technologic processes is most frequently solved in classic and nuclear power industry, chemistry and petro-chemistry. In the field of non-continuous (batch) technological processes these include production equipment in pharmaceutical, foodstuff industry and special chemistry. Other areas for use of automation include mechanical engineering, automotive industry, glass industry, production of building materials, environmental protection, etc.

The solutions for automation of technologic processes are based on a control system usually consisting of distributed control system, programmable automatic elements, safe systems and operators’ workplaces with application of the type SCADA/HMI. The control system is designed according to various criteria, the most important of them being safety, reliability, availability as well as price. The critical applications use systems with extended reliability and availability, reached by using the systems of the „fail-safe“ or „fault-tolerant“ type with redundant or TMR architecture. The company UNIS is an engineering partner of the company TRICONEX, manufacturing programmable automatic units for critical processes with three-times redundant architecture. The systems were successfully applied in the Czech Republic, in Europe and Asia as electronic security systems in chemistry and mainly petro-chemistry, as well as for regulation and protection of turbines and automatic elements of burners. Frequently used safe systems also include Hima, Pros-safe (Yokogawa), Woodward, Siemens.

Architecture of control systems of technological processes and machines is based on the newest information in the given field and it contains up-to-date methods of communication between individual parts of the control system or with the field instrumentation. The most up-to-date technologies include „Fieldbus-Foundation“ for communication with field instrumentationand distribution of control intelligence. As a standard, the control systems are equipped with communication interface OPC for inter-connection with the systems of optimisation and higher control and MES.

The course of realisation (life cycle) of all the orders from the contract signature up to hand-over to users follows binding rules set on the basis of the ISO 9001 standard.
