UNIS started this project as the general designer and closely cooperated with KG Process Innovations spol. s r.o., Cheteng spol. s r.o. and TKB Kovoprojekta Brno a.s. The project was started in August 2006, and the detail design was put on hold for a period of time.

In 2010, we took over the project completely and started it again, already in the role of general contractor. Unfortunately, the project was put on hold again in 2012.

The project consisted of four units:

  • Hydrodesulphurisation units
  • Sulphur production units
  • Amine regeneration units
  • Acid water treatment units

The hydrodesulphurisation unit was built under licence from the American company UOP. The sulphur production unit under licence from Jacobs. The capacity of the desulphurisation unit should reach 1.5 million tonnes/year after commissioning.

Before the project was suspended, design work was completed and construction of the complex began. Once completed, the plant should produce diesel with a sulphur content of 0.005%, which meets European standards. The total cost of the project is around USD 100 million.
